The Douk-Douk® Le Géant knife features a sturdy folded-plate handle, but unlike the other sizes of this model, this one is curved to ensure a firm, particularly comfortable grip. Like standard Douk-Douk knives, the handle has a burnished (gunmetal) surface treatment, followed by polishing to a shiny finish.

Delivered alone, in a wooden pen box or with a black or brown leather sheath.

Quelques conseils d’utilisation et d’entretien.

To ensure that your knife remains a faithful and useful companion whenever you need it, we recommend that you wipe it dry after every use that could damage its carbon steel blade. Do not leave it in water, and do not put it in the dishwasher. In the event of contact with water or other liquids, wipe immediately with a clean, dry cloth. To avoid any risk of oxidation, a drop of edible oil or a little mineral grease on the axles will prevent rust and keep the mechanism supple. In the event of prolonged storage, a light film of mineral grease, particularly on the blade, will prevent oxidation and tarnishing. As carbon steel is very sensitive to acidic fluids, it is advisable to avoid cutting fruits such as lemons, or vegetables such as onions. To sharpen the blade, simply resharpen the cutting edge if necessary, using a whetstone or sharpening gun.

Although sturdy, this knife may become brittle in its sharpest parts, such as the tip or cutting edge, if used improperly.
