This traditional range, with its small and large models, remains faithful to the original models, with a sharp, robust blade that’s easy to sharpen.
These models will be preferred by hobbyists, collectors and connoisseurs who know the advantages (notably the blade’s exceptional hardness and sharpness) and will be able to overcome these requirements (patina and oxidation).
Non-contractual pictures.
To get the most out of your Douk-Douk® knife, a few simple rules will prevent the blade from oxidising or developing a patina. The first of these is, as we all know, to absolutely avoid leaving it in water. You should therefore abandon the idea of putting it with the pile of dishes on the sink, and even less consider the idea of putting it in the dishwasher. If you own a Douk-Douk®, simply wiping it down after use with a clean, dry cloth will suffice.
However, if your knife comes into contact with water - and this is sometimes unavoidable - wipe it dry meticulously. A little grease on the shafts (cooking oil or our mineral grease) will effectively protect the moving parts while ensuring that the opening and closing mechanisms run smoothly.
