Non-contractual pictures.
During a vacation in Corsica, Fred Perrin noticed that many tourists were buying knives as souvenirs. Unfortunately, the knives sold were made exclusively in China or Pakistan. Not very representative of Corsica. With this in mind, Fred Perrin, Elsa Fantino, a cutler and wrought-iron craftswoman, and two Corsican knife-maker friends, Laurent Bellini and Julien Maroselli, decided to create a high-quality French knife representative of Corsica, so that tourists could leave with an authentic Corsican knife. To guarantee the product’s quality, Fred Perrin called on Pierre Cognet to propose a collaboration in cutlery. Convinced by the idea, Pierre Cognet accepted, explaining that his father, Guy, had already collaborated with Joseph Antonini, one of the oldest figures in Corsican cutlery craftsmanship.
The knife’s parts are cut at La Monnerie le Montel, then passed on to Palladuc for blade grinding, and finally back to Thiers for assembly and finishing. For its manufacture, Pierre Cognet has decided to follow the same techniques as those used for Douk-Douk® to ensure impeccable quality.
Tourists and locals alike can now acquire the Vendedouk, a pure Corsican-inspired product.
